The ftp directory of HERA-B

• Read Access:
  • via WWW: ftp://ftp.desy.de/pub/herab.
  • ftp session (from UNIX, VAX, ...): type
    ftp ftp.desy.de
    when asked for a username, enter
    ftp
    when asked for a password enter your emailaddress. then you can copy files from the ftp directory to your account with the command
    get [path/]filename
    to view a directory type
    dir
    to change a directory type
    cd directory
  • from your x4u Account. (see below)
• Write Access:
  • Only from your x4u Account. The directory is /home/local/ftp/pub/herab.

E-mail

• You can email a collaboration member by clicking on the email adress on the email list.
• On the hera-b.desy.de, there is an .addressbook-file for Pine, made out of our list on the WWW. It will be updated regulary. To use it (on hera-b.desy.de), add the entry /hb/www/mail/pine_addressbook to the address-book= field in your configuration (Main -> Setup -> Configure).
• There is an Manual for Pine on the Web.
