   1. HV Boards
   ------------

1.1 Status of the test setup
A first test box (not gas tight) is ready and the first
tests can start today. The gas-box is not ready but under
       design.

   1.2 Cleaning procedure
To check the efficiency of the cleaning procedure
out-gazing tests are needed. Since the out-gazing
device at CERN is currently used by ATLAS (info from Mar)
such a check is difficult. Nothing has been done about the
       cleaning so fare.

JJ.Wang mentioned the need of a clean-room and the need
to pack the HV boards directly after the tests into
       a plastic bag:

       - Clean room: right-now there is no clean-room foreseen
for the tests and the cabling of the HV boards. Mario
should check-out with Mr. Grabosch if we can get somewhere
         space for a clean-room.

       - Plastic bags: somebody should organize plastic bags
for packaging of the HV boards.

1.2b During the discussion Mike pointed-out that B.Schmitt
advised to use HALOGEN-FREE solder for the HV boards.
This solder has the following specification:

                 Fluitin Speziallot Draht Nr.1603
                 F-SW32, DIN8516 (halogenfrei)
                 producer: kueppers provider: alphametals

   1.3 Recycling of twisted-pair HV boards ?
According to the recent counting there are about 32000
HV channels already equipped as "twisted-pair" channels.
A "recycling" of these boards would include to unsolder the
twisted-pair cable, and to prepare additional adapter cards.
The general opinion on a possible "recycling" was that the
man-power effort is too large. The boards should be kept
as possible spares for the future.

   1.4 HV board production strategy
        ----------------------------

The recent calculations and subsequent measurements
of A.Lanyov and D.Pose have shown that the HV boards
of the different modules must have different cable lengths.
The correct production of the module dependent boards
is considered to be a major logistic effort. A decentralized
cabling of the boards encounters the following problems:
+ transfer of the correct data-sheets to all laboratories
+ shipment of the correct amount of the correct cables
(already prepared) to the different production sites
+ shipment of all required pieces (correct boards,
adapter boards) to the different sites
+ 3fold copy of the HV test-setup currently build
             in Zeuthen

A central production is therefore favored.

        Manpower need for central production:
The production speed for the cabling of HV boards at Zeuthen
is 500 HV channels / (week and person).
To finish all boards by April 99 (9 months = 36 weeks) 7
people are necessary. In addition 1-2 persons are necessary
for the testing, cleaning and packing of the boards.

A mail summarizing the details on the board production will
        follow.

   2. Test pulse distribution:
      ------------------------
      Discussion was skipped.

   3. Tests of ASD-8 Distribution Board:
      --------------------------------
3.1 Detailed tests of the ASD-8 distribution boards have
started and lead to slight modifications of the board.

   4. Preparation of radiation tests at HMI
      -------------------------------------
About 3 days are needed for the irradiation tests. The test
personal must consist of at least one German speaking person
and a physicist. It was proposed that A.Schreiner and
A.Hagedorn could do the measurements. For the first time a
      more senior scientist should assist.

We are currently missing coax-cable for the HV boards.
