HERA-B Technical Documentation
The Technical Documentation of the HERA-B detector is provided
by the central design-pool (W1) at DESY/Hamburg. The CAD program used for
this purpose is I-DEAS Release 6 (SDRC/USA). Such a system has the following
benefits:
-
Conflicts of different detector elements can be easily recognized.
-
All detector elements, wherever they have been designed, will be included
in the model either be transfering 2-D drawing or files of other 2-D CAD
systems. File transfer at the 3-D level is only possible within identical
systems. Therefore the complete information is available at DESY. The 3-D
team, the Hallendienst and the technical coordinator have thus all relevant
information at hand for a trouble-free integration of all detector elements.
-
Overview drawings will be distributed to all institutes at reasonable time
scales.
-
The 3-D team designs in addition support structures, finds free space for
cables etc.
-
A 3-D model allows to provide 2-D cuts of the detector along every plane.
-
Colorful 3-D drawings are very helpful for discussions and for propaganda.
If you need files in special formats, or have any suggestions or comments,
please contact H.B. Peters who is the head
of the HERA-B 3D-team.
The most important z-positions (including the results of the most recent
detector survey) of all detector elements (last update 18/07/00) are
available as
Postscript-file and PDF-file. for the geometry 2000
and the new geometry 2002 (last update 14/12/01):
