The HERA-B online computing infrastructure comprises a group of around 400 PCs running Linux and about 100 VME crate controllers runing LynxOS. Each of the two separated clusters have an independent server providing YP (passwd), NFS and boot services for the clients.
The nodes are connected via fast Ethernet to around 30 fast Ethernet switches which in turn are connected via gigabit Ethernet uplinks to a central gigabit Ethernet switch.
This note briefly describes the HERA-B online computing infrastructure.
