logmon  -  GUI for data logger Monitor

   A GUI written in Tcl/Tk allows to monitor the logging procedure. After starting  l4gLogMon process the main window appears.
 

Main window
The main window consists of the following fields (Figure-1).

200 small buttons in the left side show the current status of Farm Nodes: OK, Overloaded, Problems. After clicking on the button the Node informational window appears.

There are two histograms in the seft side: "Event processing time" and "Event size".

In the right side the following information is shown:

  • the number and the size of events sent by Farm Nodes, received by Logger Node and written by Writer process;
  • the number and the size of files written by Writer and archived by Archiver;
  • the disk usage in % and in Gb.

    There are 5 buttons at the bottom:
     
  • "Logger" shows by its collor the status of Logger Node. After pressing the button the Logger informational window appears.
  • "Robot" shows by its collor the status of Archiver process. After pressing the button the Robot informational window appears.
  • After pressing "More..." button the Error messages window appears.
  • After pressing "Options" button the Options window appears.
  • After pressing "Exit" button program exits.
  • Node informational window
    The Node informational window (Figure-2) shows shared memory occupation, the number and the total size of events sent, last event processing time and the time stamp for the last event.
    Logger informational window
    The Logger informational window (Figure-3) shows
  • shared memory occupation;
  • disk usage for FULL  DST and MINI DST disks;
  • the number and the total size of events received and written, and the time stamp for the last event;
  • the number and the total size of files written.
  • Robot informational window
    The Robot informational window shows the number and the total size of files archived.
     
     
    Error messages window


    The Error messages window (Figure-4) shows error messages from the Data Logger processes.
     

    Options window
     
    The Options window (Figure-5) allows to change screen redrawing period and to reset values which force Farm Node buttons, Logger buttin and Robot button to change their color (Green, Yellow, Red).
     
     
    Process
    Currently GUI process l4gLogMon can be started only on hera-b.desy.de machine. Executable is in $HBROOT/DATAMGR/pro/IRIX_mips4/bin directory. Work for adaptation the process for other machines is in progress.
